Hi Zübeyde! Nice to "meet" you, and thanks for dropping by. You are correct, it did take a long time to collect all this info. It's taken me about 9 years and I'm still not finished. :)

Your site looks like it is off to a good start. It will be really helpful when you add either information about how to buy the crochet patterns, or else post the patterns themselves. (I know how time consuming these things can be.) The crochet work you do is lovely. I wish you the best of luck. Thanks again for visiting.

Hello! I'm Zübeyde from Turkey. I have visited your site for the first time and I see that you have a very detailed source aboout crochet. It should have taken very long time to collect this information.
I have a blog presenting samples from Turkish crochet, I would be so glad, if you could visit my blog and make comments on my collection. Thanks in advance.

Hi Heather! Thanks for dropping by. :) Well, I would certainly love a good source of free patterns too. :) Maybe you could try the magazines at your local library? Sometimes the crochet magazines do reprint antique patterns, but finding them can be kind of hit or miss. Luckily, vintage crochet patterns and antique crochet patterns are not expensive. Especially lately- I've seen sooo many lovely pattern book auctions ending for a song. Many even for less than $5. Good luck with your search.

Hi Sarah, Welcome! :) Nice to "meet" you. Thanks for the comment. I am glad you dropped by, and glad you are finding the information helpful. I suppose you can tell that I am a huge fan of your great-great-great aunt's work. I am thrilled for you too, that you made such a fantastic discovery. I'd love to see your knitting. :) It would be great if you learn to crochet too.

I am Mary Card's newest fan. I am researching my family history have just discovered that she was my great-great-great aunt. I am so thrilled! My mother's maiden name was also Mary Card, yet she had never been told about her namesake. Mum and I are both keen knitters but neither of us crochets. Perhaps this will change as we tap into a new inspiration from our family tree. Thank you for the information on your site.

Hi Rebecca! Welcome. :) Well, it sounds like you are off to a good start. My only advice would be, practice! The more you practice, the better you get. If there is anything specific I can help you with, please let me know.
