Hello crochet-loving friends!
I am once again writing with an apology about the appearance of this web site. I just installed a new Wordpress plugin that will hopefully help me to make the site more “international-friendly”. (For those who don’t know, wordpress is blog software, in case you were wondering.) Unfortunately, the plugin also seems […]

Now THAT’S an ebay auction! Does the word “WOW” mean anything to you??! OK, the auction lot does actually have a tiny bit of antique crochet lace included in it…somewhere. […]
There are quite a few antique issues of the Home Needlework Magazine listed for sale on ebay right now. It’s especially worth noting the January 1903 Issue of Home Needlework, which has 3 amazing patterns for antique beaded floral opera & reticule bags, among other things.

Updated to add: The auction has ended. Sorry if you missed out! If I find another one of these filet crochet charts I will be sure to post about it though, so please make sure to take a look at my latest posts on the site to see current auction finds. The final bid price […]
This seller apparently specializes in selling collectible antique textiles. I thought that some of her current crochet offerings looked really interesting. She is located in the USA, but ships worldwide.
The items linked above are just a few of the things that are currently being offered; only items with the keyword “crochet” will show up […]
This post and This post have both been updated. These posts show images of some very rare antique European crochet books. I posted about them before when they first came up for sale, but apparently they haven’t found a home yet. So, if you missed out on seeing them the first time, they are definitely […]
I’ve been working on updating the antique-crochet.com site. So, what do you think of the new Wordpress theme? There are a lot of things I like about it, but there are also quite a few things that I really don’t like about it. In the long run I have plans to create my own theme, […]
I’m about to do some updating on the site, so for the next couple of hours, some pages might be a bit of a mess. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience! Thanks for visiting.
I’ve updated the web site with a new page about another old crochet book: The Star Yoke Book, published by the American Thread Company in 1921. There are some gorgeous vintage crochet patterns in this book; most of the patterns are for crocheted nightgown yokes. One yoke is intricate Irish crochet; some others are filet […]
I couldn’t resist posting a new page about this lovely antique magazine, even though there aren’t actually any crochet patterns in this particular issue. There are lots of other needlework patterns though; there’s a knitting pattern, and a significant amount of information about lace making and related projects. The March 1902 Delineator has 4 gorgeous […]
I just wanted to give everyone a bit of advance warning that I’m going to be doing some site upgrading within the next few days. I’m hoping that the site will stay live during the upgrades, but there is a possibility that there might be some down time.
Also I’ve done a lot of new web […]
This looks like a fantastic auction! Included in this lot are 4 different booklets, 2 of which are crochet books and 2 of which are sewing books. One of the crochet books is Corticelli Crochet Lessons Book #7. I have clearer photos of this book posted than the seller does, so if you’d like to […]
This seller has some interesting crochet and needlework auctions. If the auctions are still live by the time you find this post, they’ll be listed below. If not, you’ll see a message that no items match your keywords.

This seller is selling a treasure trove of antique and vintage crochet, knitting and tatting patterns. (If the auctions are still running by the time you see this post, you’ll see them listed below. If not, you’ll see a message that no items were found.

This seller has some of the most interesting auctions! The most interesting of which is this auction for 2 1920’s pattern books with instructions on how to make beadwork bags in both crochet and knitting. I’ve owned both of these pattern books before, and they are both exceptional. In the past I’ve sold copies of […]
I just created a new web page on the antique-crochet.com site which is dedicated to the October 1933 Issue of Needlecraft Magazine. This issue has lots of fantastic needlework and crochet patterns, including an exquisite crochet pattern (with chart!) by Mary Card. Mary Card’s patterns and charts are highly sought after by crochet enthusiasts and […]
One of the highlights of the December 1931 Issue of Needlecraft Magazine: The gorgeous filet crochet pattern for a chair set designed by Mary Card. It’s pictured above. I just updated the antique-crochet.com site with a new page dedicated to this issue of the magazine, including lots more pictures plus a list of projects that […]
The September 1933 issue of Needlecraft Magazine has some exquisite crochet patterns in it, including a pattern for the lovely filet crochet tea cloth you see above. There is a good mix of other needlework patterns in the issue as well. I won’t go into more detail in this blog post, because I’ve just updated […]
I just posted a new page on antique-crochet.com which is dedicated to the September 1931 issue of Needlecraft Magazine. The emphasis of this issue really isn’t crochet, but there is a good mix of needlework and there are a few crochet patterns included. This blog post shows just a tiny “sneak peek” of the […]
